Born and raised in Mumbai, I went to work in Bangalore for a better job prospect and an exciting change of place. I flew high in the independence that came along. New city, new job, new house, new friends, and a new cab on a new road… which took me to another new place… However, it was filled with hopelessness. I met with a road traffic accident and in one moment, I caved into a dependence that came along. The following month consisted of new doctors, new beds, new medicines, new life, and new challenges.

Although physically I was growing stronger, mentally I was worsening. My dejection grew. Self-doubt increased and confidence was about to wave goodbye. Just then, like a miracle, my wonderful willpower began to shine. It encouraged me to apply for jobs and prodded the writer in me to start a blog.  Nevertheless, I kept struggling to find a peaceful abode.

Seven years later, in 2022, although I got married in Pune, my career strife continued. That’s when I remembered JobsForHer. It’s India’s largest career platform for women. I can search for jobs, enhance my portfolio by upskilling with the various courses it offers, attend exclusive events to grow my network, also find mentorship opportunities, and get to do a lot more.

While several women have returned to work with ease, countless other women struggle to come back. In March 2015, Neha Bagaria founded JobsForHer - an online platform that connects women wanting to restart their careers. Neha Bagaria accurately recognized that the female workforce participation in India is among the lowest in the world and is continuing to fall.  Back then is when I had met her, and her immense grit to reverse the female brain drain inspired me. I remember it so well because I sprinkled its first website with the right words.

I am fortunate to have witnessed Neha Bagaria’s success in the last seven years. That success is surely an inspiration to millions of women. Today, I am proud to be a part of JobsForHer and I hope that as a writer, I can influence some more million back into the workforce!

If you wish to restart your career again just like I did, then it’s time to face those challenges head-on and be who you truly want to be. Believe and you will!
