Analyst should have an independent thinking process.
Knowing about the entire ecosystem which could affect the working of the company, which includes economic parameters, raw material movement, power consumption, business growth, competitor analysis, capital allocation efficiency, etc.
Tracking per capita consumption of the company’s product and pegging it against world consumption. Deriving reasons for the pattern of assumed growth.
Focusing on the ‘service element’ of the company, which includes their service to customers, distributors and all their stake-holders. This understanding comes through ground research and talking to various stake-holders via meetings and telephonic interviews.
Understanding mind of the management of the investee company through dialogue with them and speaking to ex-employees.
