You will be working as R&D Application Engineer and will be part of Motion business area, System Drives division based in Bangalore, India and you will be reporting to R&D Department Lead. In this role you will be primarily responsible for contributing significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP) by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. Acting as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) or software development or product engineering for specific product-related issues and maintenance.

Your responsibilities

• Designing and development of applications and solutions for OEM’s end customers on our control applications or engineering platform

• Collaborate with global or local R&D or product management or customer teams to develop world class reliable solutions.

• Ownership of functional requirement specifications, design documents, technical specifications and test cases in line with quality systems design and architecture concepts

• Ownership of customer aligned application deliverables aligned to ABB Solution standards / practices / quality assurance process

• Strong collaboration within R&D community and alignment with agile software development principles

• Demonstrate strong commitment to quality culture in ABB R&D

• Mindset to take risk, share success and failures in the team

• Mindset towards innovative thinking and challenging the current situations

Your background

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, Power Electronics, or related field with 5 to 8 years of experience

• Must have strong experience in Drives domain and industrial applications

• Expertise in Industrial application IEC 61131 programming languages

• Experience in C, C++, Python, Simulink programming an added advantage

• Experience in Unit testing for the developed functions or modules or solutions

• Experience in working in Agile teams and strong understanding of agile ways of working

• Experience about CI/CD processes, Jenkins or equivalent tool See Less
