You will be working as Category Specialist and will be part of Large Motors and Generators Business Area for Motion Division based in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. In this role you will be reporting to Strategic Sourcing Head. You will be responsible for Supporting regional/global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of a regional/global category manager or independently if under a defined threshold. Purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.

Your responsibilities

• Supporting the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the regional/global Category leader

• Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically re-news pricelists, terms and conditions

• Running benchmark studies for the category team and for specific sourcing initiatives

• Creating local contract amendments to frame agreements on be-half of a country and updates/maintains frame contracts for own category

• Supporting regional/global sourcing initiatives within a defined set of categories, working closely with key stakeholders to implement regional category strategies

• On-boarding new suppliers in close collaboration with the respective local buyer, Quality team and runs regular supplier evaluations and provides supplier reports to Businesses and Category Managers

• Running regional sourcing initiatives under a defined threshold. Timely P-info creation and communication to respective buyers

• Fostering communication internally, externally, and between different Divisions, Business Units and Functions and supports the implementation of PL activities and initiatives in the Region/Country through this clear communication

• Exploring opportunities for cost-saving measures, Zero base costing , Best Buy such as negotiating better terms with suppliers or optimizing transportation logistics

Your background

• BE/ Diploma Mechanical with minimum 8 to 10 years of experience

• Experience in handling various commodities like Casting ,Forging, Fabrication, Stamping, Accessories Insulation, Bearings

• Exposure in handling new vendor development , commercial and technical negotiations
