JobsForHer hosted the 5th edition of its flagship event AccelHERate and DivHERsity Awards 2022 on March 4th. Top companies in India got together on a virtual platform to join us in our mission to build a diverse and inclusive workforce.

The agenda for AccelHERate was curated based on the theme for International Women’s Day 2022 - #BreakTheBias.

India’s BIGGEST B2B conference for companies committed to increasing female participation in the Indian workforce, AccelHERate 2022 included a series of panel discussions, roundtables and workshops with thought leaders across industries. The conversations were rich with ideas and thoughts on what India really needs to do, to include more women in the workforce across levels.

Vijayaraman Subramanian, Vice President and Managing Director, Verizon India joined us to present the opening Keynote Address at AccelHERate 2022.

It was indeed an engaging address, where he shared his insights on workplace biases and what Corporate India must do to ensure equal participation of women across all levels of an organisation.

“I am very passionate about the subject #BreakTheBias and this brings into light the dire need to create a world free of biases, stereotypes and discriminations. And create a world that is diverse, equitable and extremely inclusive.” Vijayaraman Subramanian

He also shared his insights on having more women in lead roles and why women shy away from these roles due to several life cycle changes and societal pressure.

And if India wants an equal representation of women in the workplace, then organisations should take deliberate action to make sure that diversity is being taken care of at all levels of the organisation. A diverse workforce has the potential to change the way a business runs and it also changes the way customers perceive the business, he said.
