I’m more than what you See!

I was doing my MBA when I had a major turning point in my life. In 2018 during my college project, I lost my left leg in a deadly accident. My hemoglobin levels ... dropped to 2.0 and it required me 40 units of blood , 9 surgeries and four complete months of hospitalization to be able to recover. However, I completed my college and earned my MBA (2017-19), without breaking a year in my studies. I took to Para-cycling and within months of my amputation. I cycled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a single-leg for 43 days (this was achieved within two years of my amputation) to raise awareness for Para-Sports. I was a part of Infinity Ride, 2020 and I was tagged as first female para cyclist of India.

I was made the Brand ambassador for "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" campaign of Rajgarh Dist. - 2021. I was also made the Youth Icon for Rajgarh Dist, Madhya Pradesh. Later I have been awarded with the Shakti Icon by my alma mater, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun in the year 2021. I was later quoted for my achievements by several media houses that included - Times of India, Times Now, All India Radio both on print and TV media. I also had the opportunity to speak about my journey and several aspects related to it in my interview with these media houses.

As it was all going on, life had some more challenges for me. This time it was a bit more traumatic. I lost my father to an untimely cardiac arrest. I took a week break from my cycling journey (K2K) and I came home for his funeral. Life has to go on!

Later, I got selected to represent India at the Para-cycling World Championship -2021. But we could not travel due to Covid-19. I made up my mind to enter into IT sector. I chose to work with Verizon as it rewards inclusivity, equity and diversity. The motivation from the leadership has always been encouraging and inspiring. My Manager and My Team have always been so supportive of all my endeavors.
