Working in an Agile Scrum environment, the Software Test Engineer will be reporting to the Technical Leader. The role will require working with the Scrum development team and product management team to create and execute test solutions, both manual and automated, for product releases.Essential Responsibilities :
• Creation and execution of Test Plans and experience using defect tracking and reporting system
• Ensure traceability of requirements to test cases; develop a detailed test plan and execution of test activities according to plan
• Interact with development and project teams in preparing key documentation such as development and test plans, and requirement reports
• Develop tests (both manual and automated) from detailed test designs complying with coding guidelines and test architecture
• Assist in prioritization and analysis of reported defects and work with development to facilitate timely closure.
• Carry out manual and automated test execution, working closely with the Scrum development team.Desired Characteristics :
• Knowledge of monitoring and diagnostics technologies or demonstrated ability to learn product concepts and new technologies
• Working Knowledge of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle
• Knowledge of the Agile Rally Tool
• Proficient with the HP Mercury Quality Center testing tool
• Working Knowledge with automation tools such as LoadRunner, QuickTest Professional (3+ years)
• Working knowledge with Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, database tools e.g. – TOAD, SQL Developer
• HP Mercury Certified Professional
• Certified Software Tester (CSTE \ ISTQB)
• Experience in QMS including performing audits and process adherence evaluation
• Experience in designing, coding, and/or maintaining applications using one or more of the following programming languages (VB, VBScript, JScript, C, C++, C#, .NET, Java)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
• Six Sigma - Green belt accreditation (GE employees only)
