As an Information Technology (IT) Oracle Database Engineer (DBA) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will plan, coordinate and administer database functions, documentation, upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and data protection, and work with customers to support the company’s operational, infrastructure and project needs. You will design, implement, and maintain databases in a client/server environment with respect to quality, flexibility, cost, and capacity/performance, redundancy. You will collect domain knowledge of how the data is used and other metadata useful in the management of large database enterprise.

As an Information Technology (IT) Oracle Database Engineer (DBA) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will plan, coordinate and administer database functions, documentation, upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and data protection, and work with customers to support the company’s operational, infrastructure and project needs. You will design, implement, and maintain databases in a client/server environment with respect to quality, flexibility, cost, and capacity/performance, redundancy. You will collect domain knowledge of how the data is used and other metadata useful in the management of large database enterprise.
This position will be in Hyderabad, India, working in a fast-paced, agile and iterative environment, affording the stability of a global, established and competitive technology company.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Must be willing to work in 24X7 Operational support environment with shift rotation and on-call support.
  • Maintain global collaboration with the other Micron IT operations teams, both internal and external to I&O
  • L2/L3 Incident and problem management
  • Vendor cases management
  • Maintain Database Uptime SLA.
  • Support occasional weekend releases.
  • Provide database support for company projects.
  • Handle the health and the capacity of Oracle databases.
  • Provide operational database administration for Small, Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) and Very Large databases (VLDB) support for enterprise databases.
  • Meet government and industry compliance requirements.
  • Automate, innovate and push database technologies forward.
  • Reviewing of system log files, trend analysis, configuration assessment.
  • Recommend and work with the L4 engineers or Solution Architect on system or architectural changes when needed to improve automation, performance, high availability and scalability.
  • Update operational runbook documentation for any changes in the environment.
  • Continually improve operations through routine monitoring of system performance metrics and proactive actions.
Required Skills and experience:
  • Experience in administration of various versions of 11g, 12c, and 19c Oracle database Technology/Software Development/Information Systems with 3-10 years of experience.
  • Experience with database Administration, Upgrades, Patches and Migrations in an OLTP/OLAP production support environment.
  • Work directly with customers to resolve data conflicts, inappropriate data usage, and schema and naming standards.
  • Experience with Database Design, Database RMAN backups and recoveries from enterprise backup solutions.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning, SQL design and fixing issues with TKPROF, AWR, SQLT, ORAchk, TFA.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Partitioning, Compression, OEM/Grid Control, VLDBs and archiving methods.
  • Experience with backup, restore and recovery procedures.
  • Experience in taking logical backups of data using oracle data pump utilities expdp/impdp.
  • Experience with maintaining Oracle databases on RHEL operating system.
  • Experience with solving client connectivity issues.
  • Experience with supporting a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with software engineering, including programming languages such as Perl and shell scripting.
  • Basic understanding of PL/SQL stored procedures and packages.
  • Experience with building and implementing infrastructure monitors and utilities.
  • Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
  • Understanding of processes for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

  • Must be able to work under stress and project deadlines.
  • Skills in decision-making, prioritization and negotiation.

Education:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines or equivalent work experience. Microsoft SQL server certification preferred.
