Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our foundation as the Head of Ataxia Research and Support. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and executing the foundation's strategic vision, driving research initiatives, and fostering collaborations with key stakeholders in the pursuit of groundbreaking treatments and a cure for Ataxia.

2. Research and Development:
• Oversee and facilitate research programs aimed at accelerating the development of treatments and a cure for Ataxia globally.
• Establish partnerships with leading research institutions, scientists, and pharmaceutical companies.
3. Advocacy and Awareness:
• Advocate for policies that support Ataxia research and improve the lives of individuals affected by Ataxia.
• Increase public awareness about Ataxia and the foundation's mission through various channels.
• Organise symposiums, talks, webinars and other coferences and networking events to increase the collaboration in this field
4. Community Engagement:
• Build and nurture relationships with the SCA 12 community, including patients, families, and support groups.
• Develop and implement support programs to enhance the quality of life for individuals living with SCA 12
5. Fundraising and Grant Management:
• Lead fundraising efforts to secure financial resources for research initiatives as well as other activities.
• Manage grants and partnerships, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve desired outcomes.
Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in a relevant field (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent).
• Proven leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector or medical research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Well organized and interest in conducting public drives, symposiums and engaging with doctors, researchers, patients (and their families)
• Track record of successful fundraising and grant management.
