- Meet regularly with Business Analysts, Engineering Leaders, Product Owners to understand, analyze, and propose technical solutions to new business requirements or issues reported.
- Should be able to multitask and work on tighter timelines and resolve client impacting PMEs and/or meeting project deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter, someone who works well on their own and with various teams from various products and IT (Platform, Cloud, and other teams).
- Architect new integration patterns and data load pipelines from various sources including but not limited to flat files, APIs, Kafka, relational database and more.
- Build data load processes (both stream and batch).
- Support the evangelization of the data platform and best practices.
- Peruse new techniques, tools and implement or lead discussions around their implementation.
- Support and contribute to formulized QA validation of deliverables.
- Complete code reviews.
- Analyze, tune, and optimize existing queries, suggest new queries for performance improvements and/or the leveraging of platform features to improve operations.
- Perform problem determination (root cause analysis) and document the source and proposed resolution.
- Should have prior exposure to DevOps, release pipelines (CI/CD)
- Assist with creating and maintaining high documentation & platform standards.
- Good to have exposure on Postgres, Linux shell scripting and deep knowledge of traditional data warehousing design patterns.
- 5+ years of experience in database architecture and design, with specific experience in cloud-based database platforms, preferably Google Big Query.
- Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience completing data integration projects efforts (in any platform).
- Experience with R, Python, batch scripting.
- Experience working with Confluent.
- Certifications in Google Big Query (Nice to have).
- Experience working with APIs.
- Experience working with relational databases (Postgres & SQL Server).
- Experience designing and programming complex functions, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries.
- Experienced and skilled in analyzing database performance factors, monitoring tools, and tuning procedures.
