The Red Pen Company Description The Red Pen is an independent education consulting company, advising applicants who seek to study abroad at the day/boarding school, undergraduate, MBA or master's level. We help applicants in developing an admissions strategy, preparing application components and navigating the complex admissions process to institutions worldwide. We currently have 40 team members in Mumbai and 30 others in locations around the world. Our office is located at Nirlon House in Worli (Mumbai).
The Content Specialist Role The Red Pen continues to grow its services and clients across India and around the world; we are seeking a Content Specialist with strong writing and communication skills to assist in developing, sharing and measuring results of content. Responsibilities:

- Proofreading of application forms, essays and resumes. Liase with applicant stories/experiences and help them translate those into written form through brainstorming sessions

The Content Specialist Role The Red Pen continues to grow its services and clients across India and around the world; we are seeking a Content Specialist with strong writing and communication skills to assist in developing, sharing and measuring results of content. Responsibilities:
- Proofreading of application forms, essays and resumes. Liase with applicant stories/experiences and help them translate those into written form through brainstorming sessions
- Collaborate with application consultants to help applicants conceptualize, structure and produce polished, original essays and statements of purpose
- Guide students through effective college-specific research to identify relevant resources and offerings for reference in essays
- Create original content for digital and social media channels on an as-needed basis
- We are looking for a team player, willing to get her/his hands dirty in helping us achieve our ambitious goals.
- Comfort in a fast-paced, start-up like organization is crucial.
- Fluent written and spoken English skills; writing, editing and storytelling.
- Outstanding organizational abilities with an eye for and focus on detail.
- Maturity, polish and professionalism.
- Adaptable and flexible; willing to embrace change.
- Can work under pressure and changing deadlines Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, Cloud-based software).
- Savvy with technology and social media.
- WordPress and SEO knowledge would be a plus.
- Minimum work experience of 2 years, including substantial international exposure.
- A degree from a globally recognized university. Experience and interest in Journalism, English, public relations, marketing and/or communication.
- The flexibility to work extra hours during the peak season if required– typically August through January.
- The ability to listen and counsel. A smart phone with data connectivity and laptop with updated operating system.
- The ability to work from 10 to 6 Monday to Friday; "Saturdays are working as and when needed basis, except from August to January, when weekly Saturday presence may be required.
