TeamIndus Foundation invites you to an exclusive open house for the INKHer community of women on 16th June. The month of June marks the giant step for womankind in the world of space. It is in June that Valentina Tereshkova and Sally Ride blazed the trail for women in space when they got launched into space. 

On June 16, 1963, aboard Vostok 6, Soviet Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to travel into space. After 48 orbits and 71 hours, she returned to earth, having spent more time in space than all U.S. astronauts combined to that date. Sally Ride became the first American woman to go into space when she flew on the space shuttle Challenger on June 18, 1983. 

Join Team Indus as they celebrate the women who have made milestone achievements in the quest of space exploration. This event will include an opportunity to interact with Mohini Parmeshwaran, Former scientist at ISRO and GSIUS-ESOC (European Space Operations Centre) and currently Mission Control Systems Expert at TeamIndus. 

Mohini ma'am, as she is fondly referred as, started her career way back in 1975 with ISRO in an era when there were few working women in general and in space and aeronautics in particular.  From the early days of Rohini satellite series to IRS 1C for ISRO and from Envisat to the Rosetta Mission for ESA (European Space Agency), she is one of the most experienced people at TeamIndus with over 3 decades of experience.
