Mother’s Day: Overcoming Challenges that Mothers Face at Work

Why do mother’s still face difficulty getting back to work? And what is corporate India doing to woo Indian mothers back ?

An online survey conducted by JobsForHer, taken by women on a career break, reported that close to 38% of them cited childcare as their biggest obstacle to restarting their career!

Let’s face it. Being a working mom can be extremely challenging. It takes a lot of planning and support to manage a career and a home. There is a need for an ecosystem which caters to these concerns to ease the return to work for women on a break.

We are celebrating Mother’s Day by hosting a panel discussion to understand the barriers and hurdles returning mothers face; the interpersonal dynamics at home and at work and how employers are mandating policies to re-integrate returning mothers. The discussion aims to find solutions to ensure that maternity and childcare is not a deterrent for women in pursuing their career aspirations.

The panel will feature:

  • Neha Bagaria – Founder and CEO, JobsForHer
  • Tina Vinod-Diversity and Inclusion Lead, India, ThoughtWorks
  • Shruti Madhavan -Head of Operations at Founding Years (Klay schools and TLC)– Klay PrepSchools and daycare
  • Tara Sunil Chacko-Senior Content Strategist, Clearly Blue

Date: Tuesday, 8th May 2018

Time: 11:30-1:30pm
