Women friendly policies
Maternity Leave

Women are entitled to paid Maternity Leave for a period of twenty six (26) weeks and an additional 1 month in case of illness arising out of the pregnancy, delivery, or premature birth. All employees are covered under medical insurance with higher Maternity coverage. As part of our Gradual Return to Work (GRW) program, the women employees can opt for either full time work from home or part time work from office or home up to 6 months. The option of loss of pay can also be availed up to 4 months. GRW can be availed in various combination of periods- pre or post maternity.

Paternity Leave

The new fathers at Verizon India can avail one week paid Paternity Leave preceding or succeeding the date of child birth. Additionally, new fathers are provided with remote work options that can be availed at any given point in time.

Child Care Policy

Verizon India continues its support for working mothers with the launch of daycare facilities at both Chennai and Hyderabad locations. Partnering with Kaanchana Paati – close to Olympia and RMZ offices in Chennai, and at Sunshine Preschool closer to Orion, and Titus, in Hyderabad – the daycare facilities offer working women complimentary childcare services for children from six months to six years, while fathers receive discounted services for their kids.

It impacts women mostly at the starting and mid-career levels and allow them to opt for either full-time work from home or part-time work from office or home up to 6 months. Option of loss of pay can also be availed up to 4 months. One month GRW program is available to those employees who have undergone any situation such as miscarriage, medical termination or still birth.

Employees feel that agile work arrangements like flexi timings, work from home encourage women to take up challenging roles and move into influential leadership positions. Increase in organization spend year over year in providing tools to flex has led to 96% of women avail this access. This has also made a positive impact on women retention by 1 % over the last year (this data pertains to 2018).

Amenities Policy

Verizon India has activities throughout the year to support a healthy lifestyle for its employees. Various programs such as Stress Management, THAI CHI, Zumba, Talk shows with experts on healthy living and eating are organized at regular intervals.

An exclusive feature in our travel app is available to ensure special care towards expecting mothers while planning vehicle routing like preferential seat, first drop, briefing to driver etc. Also, Mother’s (Lactation) room/nursing room is available at all facilities for the employees who are new mothers.
