I am an independent/freelance journalist and writer-editor based in Bangalore. I have over 17 years of experience in print journalism, having worked full-time with three leading Indian national daily newspapers - The Hindu, The Times of India, and The New Indian Express in various capacities; my last stint was as a Senior Assistant Editor at The Hindu's lifestyle supplement MetroPlus.
I currently write for several newspapers, magazines, and websites. And I dabble in various forms of writing, editing, and rewriting for a spectrum of clients.
I have worked with the lifestyle supplement of The Hindu - Metro Plus - in Bangalore / Bengaluru, tracking and covering trends in the city, with a special interest in food, film - both Bollywood and Kannada cinema, independent filmmakers, all things 'indie', music, environment, photography, handicraft, textiles, and fashion. I love writing and experimenting with different kinds of writing. My strength lies in interviewing and profiling people and writing in the lifestyle space.
I currently volunteer to teach spoken English at rural Government schools, and volunteer to read and record text books for the visually impaired, through the organisation Dhvani Granth.
