Role Summary/Purpose:
The Software Architect is responsible for the software architecture and design of cybersecurity-related reusable components that will be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses. These shared components must provide scalability, availability and performance alignment of our cybersecurity-related software modules w/ Grid Automation (GA) product roadmaps.

Role Summary/Purpose:

These shared components must provide scalability, availability and performance alignment of our cybersecurity-related software modules w/ Grid Automation (GA) product roadmaps.
Essential Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
• Own the software architecture, design, development and delivery of competitive cybersecurity shared components to all the Grid Automation product lines to support targeted growth.• Provide technically innovative solutions that are differentiated from the peers in the market• Perform cybersecurity audits and risk assessment; write and participate in acceptance tests; troubleshoot system issues and provide solutions• Lead the development of software architecture and design discussions for cybersecurity-related components on behalf of Substation Automation product line• Engage with industry software product partners in the cybersecurity domain to build offerings with speed and at scale• Provide technical expertise to the projects organization as required• Influence further GA products cyber security features based on learnings• Provide Cybersecurity and Software Architecture thought leadership within Grid Automation• Stay current with Software Architecture standards evolution, industry trends, customers’ expectations• Ensure contemporary tools and processes are used to support Cyber Security offerings deployment• Partner with GA Cyber Security mission-based team to monetize cybersecurity offerings• Understand competitors’ offerings.Qualifications/Requirements:• Masters Degree or Ph.D. from an accredited university in Computer Science, Power Systems , Control Systems, Instrumentation , Information Technology or any other relevant stream• Minimum 5 years of experience in software architecture and design domain• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming paradigm and languages (C++, C#, …)• Demonstrated experience with Linux / Windows operating systems including; user account management, security / system hardening & device control, and patch management• Software development cycle and automated testing experience (TDD/BDD)• Deep understanding of major security architectures, Potential vulnerabilities and resolutions• Familiarity with encryption fundamentals: PKI, Encryption, Digital Signatures & Key Management• Knowledge of cyber asset protection regulations and standards effecting the utilities industry including: NERC-CIP, NIST, IEC62443, IEC62351• Experience in the cyber security space (IT or OT)
Desired Characteristics:
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of network communication protocols including: Modbus, OPC (DA, AE, UA).• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the substation automation communication protocols: DNP3, IEC61850 etc.• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing the customer and driving strategic change• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and explain critical issues• Cyber security certification (ex. ISC2, SANS, ISACA, CISSP) is a plus• Strong customer focus and entrepreneurial mindset• Strong business and financial acumen and operating background• Solid oral and written communication skills• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills See Less
