• Lead, mentor & design blades of wind turbine
• Responsible for Design, development and testing to prove component function and reliability
• Provide innovative design solutions to meet aggressive timing, product cost and reliability targets
• Create and revise drawings, specifications and design practices applying GE and industry processes and standards
• Work cross functionally with quality teams, manufacturing engineers, sourcing, suppliers, field support and others to improve product quality and first time yield
• Support manufacturing, sourcing and field support wif issue resolution and quick corrective actions for design related causes (NCR, SDR, PAC)
• Drive quick, complete technical root cause analysis of field failures and identify design related corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Support global supply chain activities for quality assurance and fulfillment across the globe
• Identify and execute cost saving ideas and strategies
• Drive lessons learned, best practices and standardization into drawings, specifications, design practices and processesRole Summary/Purpose:Technically lead and mentor the team on design, analysis, testing, supplier qualification & manufacturing support of wind turbine blades as part of rotor subsystems. The Technical Leader is responsible for product through the entire life cycle from conceptual design through design and development, testing, qualification, manufacturing and installed fleet support. They drive technical excellence and continuous improvement in the design, cost, producibility and reliability of the component(s).Qualifications/Requirements: -• Masters in Civil - structural, Mechanical-Machine design, Aerospace - structures
• Overall 10 years of industry experience
• 5 years of Structural Design & Analysis experience in Composites (FRP) industry
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries
• Fluent in English, written and spokenDesired Characteristics: -• Proven project, program leadership experience
• Proven ability to effectively lead and guide people
• Experience in mechanical design engineering and finite element analysis
• Working knowledge of 3D-CAD tools like UG
• Expertise on Ansys or other finite element analysis tools
• Technical drawing, GD&T and design interpretation background
• Experience working in a composites manufacturing and/or assembly facility
• Experience working wif suppliers, OEMs or customers
• Experience leading resolution of complex multifaceted technical problems See Less
