Job Description

The Tax Technology team is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Support Engineer
who is passionate about operations excellence and great customer experience.
We are responsible for supporting Amazon internal Tax customers and provide the core
services to manage their processes and products to manage their audits, obligations
and workflows.
As a Support Engineer, you deep dive into issues to identify problems and work with
engineering teams to resolve issues impacting availability. You develop automation
tools to assist with daily systems administration tasks. You design and develop scripts
and applications. You will get to work on some of the key initiatives planned to support
our rapid evolution and growth of the Tax products and services in the process to solve
some of the most challenging problems.

services to manage their processes and products to manage their audits, obligations
and workflows.
As a Support Engineer, you deep dive into issues to identify problems and work with
engineering teams to resolve issues impacting availability. You develop automation
tools to assist with daily systems administration tasks. You design and develop scripts
and applications. You will get to work on some of the key initiatives planned to support
our rapid evolution and growth of the Tax products and services in the process to solve
some of the most challenging problems.
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide support of incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with
responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services
· Software deployment support in staging and production environments
· Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance
· System and Support status reporting
· Ownership of one or more products or components
· Customer notification and workflow coordination and follow-up to maintain service
level agreements
· Work with support team for handing-off or taking over active support issues and
creating a team specific knowledge base and skill set
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· BS in Computer Science/Engineering
· 4-6 years of development or technical support experience.
· 2+ years of experience in Perl/Python/shell scripts
· 2+ years of experience in writing intermediate level database queries in SQL.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Knowledge of one high level programming language (preferably C++ or Java)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong debugging/troubleshooting of Java based applications
· Ability to solve complex problems independently.
· Strong understanding of support processes – SLA, handling tickets, monitoring,
processes and metrics.
· Proven ability to write scripts and automation using preferably Java
· Understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test, deploy
· Hands on experience in Cloud technology is plus.
· Hands on experience distributed applications/enterprise applications is plus.
