Responsibilities:
10 team members who report to a Statutory Reporting Manager.Purpose of Role:
- To ensure that statutory reporting is completed accurately and on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to.
- To respond to ad hoc queries and contribute to projects.
- To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the Statutory Compliance process.
- Contribute to the quarterly review, sign off and follow up process of BFC entities, which are signed by the relevant BFC FDs, coordinate the process with RtR.
Under the leadership and support of the Statutory Reporting Manager
Statutory reporting
- To produce statutory entity accounts under IFRS for each financial year in line with timetable. Also produce analytical review of statutory accounts to provide meaningful explanation of the entity’s activities and performance during the financial year
- To ensure that the year end financial statements are audit compliant and to ensure that the served markets fully meet external and Diageo internal statutory reporting requirements.
- To supervise and review the work done by fellow colleagues in relation to the financial statement preparation process.
- Contribute to the improvement of the ongoing legal entity review of management numbers in terms of accuracy and completeness
- Quarterly review of in scope BFC submissions in terms of accuracy and completeness (Group Accounting Policy, Data quality, etc)
- Controlling tasks in relation to BFC entities in scope of review – Journal approves, B/S and P/L analysis, ad-hoc tasks.
Qualifications and Experience Required:Must have:
- Qualified Accountant with a minimum 4-6 year post qualification experience
- Strong communication and influencing skills (written & verbal)
- Experience of working within international / multicultural environment
- Experience in IFRS and other local GAAPs
- Experience in working with integrated software system (SAP knowledge is an advantage)
- Attention to detail / Overview of the business: able to operate at the detailed level when necessary, but always focuses on the big picture
- Results orientated and capable of working in a deadline driven environment
- Fluent in English
- Self-starter – ability to work through problems to resolution
- Strong analytical and questioning skills
- Audit background is an advantage
- International qualification (IAS, ACCA) is an advantage
