The Manager, Software Engineering will lead a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Application Testers and Business Analysts under the Agile/SCRUM framework to support the Software Development roadmap of the products within the portfolio.
Working within the budget assigned by the Senior Manager for Engineering, the role must ensure all of the roadmap obligations (sustaining and NPD) of the team are discharged to the required quality levels based on acceptance criteria of Business stakeholders. The role will include talent development and direct line management of the team.
The Manager, Software Engineering will also provide technical expertise to assist product owners, management, marketing and external stakeholders in determining engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness for new and existing products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

- Responsible for the quality and consistency of all deliverables from the team
- Utilize Agile best practices and maintain an awareness of industry trends

- Mentoring team members in Agile principles and Agile strategies

- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Electrical, Electronics / equivalent from reputed institution.
- 10+ Years of experience in Software development with atleast 3 years experience managing Software product development teams in a matrix organization.
- Experience of managing an Agile/SCRUM Team
- Strong experience with C#/Python/PHP, relational databases (MySQL / MS SQL Server) and front-end web technologies
- The ability to effectively communicate in a clear, positive and professional manner to all levels from customers and peers to director level
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- The ability to explain technical solutions clearly
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to effectively organise and prioritise tasks
- Motivation to continue to improve one's own knowledge and skills.
- Be able to work in a fast paced and demanding environment

- Mentoring skills
- Knowledge of the healthcare sector, including software products designed for clinical use
- Experience of JIRA, Confluence and/or Bamboo
