Position Purpose & Summary
The HR Support Specialist utilizes basic Human Resources knowledge and fundamental skills to support tasks in Cargill’s Initiate Separation process. Under limited oversight, this position performs standard procedures to support separation activities. Separation activities include or are related to: receiving notifications and informing relevant stakeholders about specific types of separations, confirming separation terms and agreement, obtaining or preparing necessary documents, administering an exit survey process, and initiating an outplacement process as needed.

Principal Accountabilities70% - Execute initiate separation processes
  • Receive separation notification details and inform relevant stakeholders about specific types of separations timely.
  • Under limited supervision, confirm separation terms and agreement details including basic support in regards to exceptions to the initiate separation policies and programs.
  • Follows standard administrative procedures to obtain or prepare the necessary separation documentation, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Timely administer the exit survey process ensuring feedback is gathered and follow-up action is taken.
  • Initiate appropriate outplacement process and services per the specific type of separation.
  • Engage necessary stakeholders following the initiate separation process as appropriate.
  • Under limited supervision, perform routine and non-routine transactional tasks which support the compliance, planning and execution of Cargill’s HR Initiate Separation processes.
  • Utilizing basic HR knowledge and fundamental skills, provide routine and non-routine support to initiate separation projects within Employee Relations.
15% - Client interaction and business partnership
  • Utilizes basic HR knowledge and fundamental skill to provide support to Employee Relations and Employee Experience specialists on initiate separation process issues and activities.
  • Under limited oversight, develops communications daily between internal and external stakeholders (employees, manager, Human Resources, external vendors, etc.) using multiple modes of communication (telephone, email, instant message) to ensure less-defined processes are executed.
10% - Evaluate the effectiveness of the initiate separation processes
  • Prepares initiate separation process reports/materials using standard administrative procedures for use by Employee Relations and Employee Experience specialists
  • Under limited supervision, provides administrative support for the design, implementation and maintenance of initiate separation tools and resources including the HR portal, Exit Survey, etc.
5% - Miscellaneous Duties as assigned
  • Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and additional systems as needed
  • Professional language proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Solid organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use of discretion and judgment necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Obtained Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in Human Resources support activities, Employee Relations, administrative assistant or customer relationship management experience
  • Prior experience in a Business Service Center environment
  • Experience working with virtual teams
  • Previous HRIS system or database experience
  • Experience working with the India culture
  • Understanding of time zones
  • Experience with India labor relations
