Job Description:

• Markets Data team is building the next generation Data fabric to solve for Business, Analytics and growing regulatory needs. Vast amounts of data assets have been accumulated through the years. Data fabric built on emerging technologies will facilitate the data being inspected, cleansed, and transformed for support decision-making
• This job involves being part of a dynamic team and contributing towards software development of core components within the next generation Big Data Platform. The ideal candidate will have an eye for building and optimizing data systems and will work closely with our systems architects, data scientists, and analysts to help direct the flow of data within the pipeline and ensure consistency of data delivery and utilization across multiple projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with business users and senior leadership to gather requirements for reporting and analytics projects
• Work with the server team to realize flow interaction, and communication interfaces
• Testing and QA coordination
• Liaison with the global business, support and development teams
• Troubleshoot performance and scalability issues
• Third line support of the platform during trading hours
• Close interaction with the business product manager and other internal business users covering asset class trading
• Candidate will be part of the core global software development team
• Candidate will interface with Business Analysts, key business and compliance stakeholders
• Candidate will interact with Technology managers and peers to ensure data ingested in the platform meets standards
• Candidate will work closely with QA and UAT teams to ensure the product is defect free and production quality

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent quantitative field

Skills:

• Experience of 8+ years in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools and techniques
• Must be able to demonstrate a high skill level in development of database objects, query design and optimization
• Extensive relational database experience is required
• Experience working with RDMS such as oracle, sybase, netezza
• Must have demonstrated experience with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, QlikView
• Strong technical and problem solving skills
• Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines, and work independently
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience with modern software development practices (test-driven development, Agile continuous integration)
• Experience working in a finance technology team
• Excellent communication skills (there is a requirement to be trader and sales facing)
