- The Big Data ETL architect works with the team of Platform and Data Architects to design enterprise class data processing and data quality frameworks that maximize speed of delivery and reusability across the various ETL tools in our environment.
- Works with the Big Data Product Owner to design a reusable Data Quality framewok to support our Logical Data Warehousing strategy built on Azure Cloud and Big Data technologies
- Develops a cohesive strategy for which ETL tools, techniques and frameworks should be used for specific classes of problems and projects within Diageo
- As a member of the Analytics Platforms team, the Big Data ETL Architect will focus on establishing a prescriptive ETL Architecture and Framework as an extension of Diageo’s existing Azure based
- DiageoInsights technology stack including technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, R, Python, Spark/Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Store
- Participate in the Architecture Forum to support governance, architecture processes, best practices and structure to enable other projects to be successful using our approved tech stack and ETL tools and framworks consistently across Data Products
- 10 years analytics development experience
- 5+ years’ experience in designing big data technology solutions
- Expertise in DiageoInsights Technology: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SQL Server Integration Services, Talend, Altery,Nifi
- Previous experience in building frameworks to measure and improve data quality, using business rules engines or similar technology
- Familiarity with core Data Warehousing concepts: Kimball Modelling, Data Warehouse ETL Toolkit, Data Quality Frameworks, Business Rules Engines,
- Attention to detail is key, inquisitive & questioning nature
