Maersk Group has five core businesses which include Maersk Line, APM Terminals, Maersk Oil and Maersk Drilling and Services and Other Shipping. Through these companies and several others, the Group employs roughly 89,000 people and generated 47 billion US dollars in revenue in 2013. When the Global Service Centres (GSC) was established in 1999, the main focus was to provide off shoring opportunities and solutions to the shipping and logistics business units of the Maersk Group, particularly for Maersk Line. But as the GSCs’ competencies grew, other business units of the Group also started migrating their processes to the Global Service Centres. The GSCs are located in Manila, Philippines; Chengdu, China; and Pune, Chennai, Mumbai in India handling the service delivery and business relationship management for Maersk Group business units.

Finance and Accounting Process works on accounting processes from regions including America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The team has an active participation in the corporate drive for process standardization and enhancements, which has resulted in higher efficiencies, uniformity of accounting practices and quality & consistent management reporting.

Key responsibilities - 

• Perform and support Procurement to Pay and Master Data process activities as Individual Contributor.
• Expert in Invoice Processing, Vendor Reconciliations, Payments Processing, Supplier Query Handling, Vendor Ageing Analysis and Vendor/Customer/GL Master record creation.
• Hands on experience in MS Office applications – Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT etc.
• Participate in projects or initiatives which improve the financial processes or the applications used to support them.
• Provide support to the maintenance and development of procedures and internal controls which are related to their process.
• Provide collaboration and production support across network. This includes global support to end users including answering questions, delivering training, facilitating the transition to latest tool releases from current tools and sharing best practices.
• Support the creation of service performance metrics reports, as required.
• Support internal / external audit activities.
• Provide status of work in process, assist in planning and coordinating execution of work, escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner while pushing to identify resolutions.
• This role requires working closely with the team and the region to identify the possible areas of process improvements, consolidation, standardisation and implement Lean practices and/or quick fixes to the process.

We are looking for - 

• Graduate with 4-5 years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience in accounts payable & master data management.
• Dynamic in nature and be prepared for robust changes happening in accounting systems.
• Good verbal and written communication and presentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access.
• Prioritization – Ability to handle phases with high workload and activities.
