According to data compiled by virtual event solutions company, Evia, women make up less than 20 percent of U.S. tech jobs, even though they make up more than half of the U.S. workforce. They earn only 28 percent of computer science degrees, and only 25 percent hold computing jobs. Many young people don’t even know what they can achieve with technology and young girls, especially, might be put off because they believe it to be abstract and gendered.
