Women friendly policies

  • Maternity Leave

    We recognize that becoming a parent is an enormously rewarding and life-changing experience. Women colleagues are entitled to 26 weeks of maternity leave. Flexible working hours arrangement is provided in order to maintain the necessary work-life balance.
  • Paternity Leave

    This leave is paid time off from work that can be availed after the birth or adoption of a child for 30 days (six weeks).
  • Child-care Facilities

    Colleagues are provided day-care referral and most of the office complexes from where we operate have a day-care within the premises.
  • Prevention of Sexual harassment Policy

    Barclays is committed to discouraging and taking corrective actions against any form of harassment at the workplace. The Barclays Group statement on Corporate Conduct and ethics states that the organisation will act to prevent inappropriate behaviour, including sexual, racial, religious or any other form of harassment, bullying or intimidation.
  • Transportation Facilities

    Cab facility is provided to all our colleagues across locations with reserved car parking option made available on request.
  • Lactation rooms for nursing mothers

    Every Barclays office has a lactation room for helping the nursing mothers.

HeForShe Global Impact Champion:HeForShe is a United Nations' global campaign to engage one billion men in the advancement of women’s rights. Barclays in partnership with the UN are calling on male colleagues to become active participants in the HeForShe campaign and the Win gender network.

Barclays’ Encore! Programme:Barclays India Encore! is a programme designed for individuals who have taken a career break and now wish to re-enter the workforce. The programme will provide development training as well as a paid 12-week fellowship matched to the candidate’s capabilities, experience and talent. After successfully completing the programme, participants will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position with Barclays in India.

Sponsorship programme: High potential women leaders are provided an internal sponsor who actively promotes, advocates and supports the career aspiration of the person being sponsored

Dynamic working:This is helping Barclays colleagues around the world integrate work and life more effectively. Anyone can request it, giving colleagues the opportunity to define how they balance their work-life. Dynamic working is the next evolution of flexible working. Our colleagues could also opt for other types of Dynamic working - taking time out to volunteer, working from a remote location within the country of employment or working with the line manager to agree on a work pattern that works best for the role and role holder.
