About rekindle:

An opportunity to start over :

Rekindle is an initiative to provide a launchpad to women who have taken a break in their careers due to any circumstances. Through this initiative, Amazon India aims to provide opportunities and support women to professionally re-integrate themselves and resume their corporate career. Structured onboarding, focused mentoring, flexible work options and on the job learning are key elements to help potential candidates in ramping up.

Statistics indicate that women are apprehensive about resuming their careers after taking a break due to diminished confidence in their skillsets. Their need for more flexibility further adds to the dilemma of rejoining. Our aim is to provide an environment that supports and helps women rekindle their professional journey.

How does the program work?

The program is open to any candidate who has prior experience that matches the job requirements for the identified positions. Candidates will be provided with information for preparing themselves for the interview. After which, they will go through the standard Amazon Interview process. Once the selected candidates are on-boarded, we will help them get assimilated into the Amazon culture and way of business with the rekindle orientation programs and mentoring support.

  • Maternity Leave

    Whether you are a birthing mother or an adoptive one, Amazon sees no difference. Amazon India Paid Maternity Leave offers benefits to employees equally to birth mothers and adoptive mothers. The benefits provide a continuous job protection, and paid leave of absence for up to 26 weeks surrounding the birth or adoption of a child.

    Ramp back Program:This program will provide employees the opportunity to ease the transition back to work following a pregnancy-related leave of absence, and/or following a parental leave of absence for a primary caregiver. The Ramp Back program is not a leave of absence, but rather a short-term, modified work schedule for up to eight (8) consecutive weeks immediately following a qualifying pregnancy-related leave or the adoptive/commissioning mother leave.

    Mother’s room in all corporate offices: Mother’s rooms are in all corporate offices and are accessible to all employees. Employees can use the room to spend some time with their children, breastfeed them, or express milk. There are provisions in the room to allow for the use of milk expression pumps and the storage of all expressed milk in the room’s refrigerator

    Affinity groups:Our Affinity Groups bring employees together across businesses and geographies. With executive and company sponsorship, these groups play an important role in building internal networks for career development, advising Amazon business units, leading in service projects, participating in policy discussions, and reaching out to communities where Amazonians live and work.
