With this, we now have six Indian startups that have contracts withAirbussubsidiaries, accelerated atAirbusBizlab India.
Airbushas been buying in India through its suppliers. Our annual procurement from the country exceeds 550 million US$ from more than 45 suppliers. Our proposition is to develop a defence focused industrial ecosystem in the country with our partners at the heart of it. We are participating in several defence programmes including, the Avro replacement programme with our C295Wmilitary transport aircraftalongside Tata. We have also partnered withMahindra Defenceto manufacture military helicopters locally. We are targeting the Naval Utility Helicopter (NUH), the Naval Multi-Role Helicopter (NMRH) and the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Helicopter (RSH) acquisition programmes in India. We believe that ‘Make in India’ is a great opportunity for us to bring in our expertise of industrial collaborations worldwide and help develop a robust industry.
