There is no better example of this than the creation of the INKher foundation – a collaboration between two empowered, visionary leaders each with her own organization that is challenging the status quo and redefining people’s perspectives.

JobsForHer, founded by CEO Neha Bagaria, is an online portal which enables women to restart their careers after a break and achieve their full potential.

Lakshmi Pratury founder and CEO of INK, a platform for cutting-edge ideas and inspiring stories, collaborates with talented individuals across disciplines to take advantage of their respective strengths.

On March 6th INKher was founded with one simple goal – bridge the gender gap in India.

The initiative will focus on skilling women, celebrating their achievements and connecting them to a community of path-breaking leaders. Today only 27% of women participate in the Indian workforce, a number which has actually declined from 35% in 2013. This despite the fact that 40% of our graduates are actually women. The gap widens further at the top with only 6% women holding top leadership positions.

As stated simply by Neha, if we want to bridge gender gaps in India then the next generation of Indian girls need new role models – and they need to be women. Role models who will push them to achieve their full potential, who will make them believe it’s possible to make our work and family flourish, and who will show them how. INKher aims to do just that and start a revolution to help women rise. After all old ways won’t open new doors, so it’s time to take our future in our own hands.

We urge you to spread this need-of-the-hour call to arms of women working everywhere. To build each other up. To hold hands and reach the top, together. To guide, mentor, and support younger women who aren't sure how to navigate the conflicting waters of society's expectations, judgments, and barriers. Who want to do more, who think they can do more, but who are told not to expect to do more. You and me, here today, know better. Please share the video below with everyone you know.

Together we WILL help women Start. Restart. and Rise.
